to provide mothers of Central Indiana with valuable and resourceful information about community programs and available state and federal assistance;
to support and conduct non-partisan research, education, and informational activities to increase public awareness of the needs and resources utilized by low-income families;
to bring mothers together to form a community support system that will help reduce stress, anxiety, and post-partum depression rates in new and “seasoned” mothers;
to provide educational opportunities to mothers in the following areas; computer skills, budgeting skills, healthy eating habits, re-employment services, CPR, car seat safety, safe sleep practices, breast-feeding, health and fitness, and more;
to allow mothers the opportunity to utilize the resources that are available to them by promoting/advertising state, federal, and local programs, events, and assistance; and
to empower mothers, by providing a local support system, to become self-sufficient law abiding citizens of their community.
Central Indiana Mothers Inc. was founded on February 9, 2013. Prior to becoming an official non-profit corporation in the State of Indiana, our founder, StephanyMae Finney, successfully led a support group of 300+ local mothers in the Central Indiana Community. She quickly found that there was a lack of information about available resources and activities for mothers to do with their children in the community, which lead to the formation of Central Indiana Mothers Inc.
Since the official incorporation date our organization has successfully held play dates for mothers at Cross Lakes Apartments Clubhouse and Shadyside Park. We have also held Informational Sessions to inform mothers of the available resources, events throughout the community, educational and prenatal classes offered at the hospitals, and more. We have also started a Baby Pantry "Liam & Livy's Wish" Baby Boutique & Momma Market. We provide things like baby food, formula, diapers, wipes, clothing, shoes, hygiene items, & more to mothers and families in need at NO COST. We also provide a delivery service to those who have no transportation. Our organization was also invited to attend the Early Head Start Wellness Fair and the Centering Pregnancy Program Session held at the Madison County Community Health Center.
We believe it is of the utmost importance to take care of the mothers in our community simply because they are the ones shaping our future leaders. Our founders personal mission is to make sure that our mothers, children, and families of Central Indiana are taken care of and are well informed of the services, events, educational, and parenting information that is available to them.
