Hello, my name is Angie and I wear many ‘hats’! My first major role, after childhood, began when I married my one and only, loving, amazing, forgiving, and compassionate husband, Steve! We will celebrate our 26th Anniversary this August! I would not be able to wear so many hats, nor be so blessed, if he wasn’t by my side all these years! We are very blessed to be the parents of 8 children and 2 grandchildren. Our adventure began 25 years ago when we gave birth to a caring, inspiring, persistent, and results-oriented daughter, Stephany! She has always been the ‘go-to gal’ when anyone needed anything, but her latest service endeavor, Central Indiana Mothers, has brought renewed inspiration to all of us! She also gave us our latest roles of Meemaw & Papaw, when she gave birth to our sweet and precious little grandchildren, Liam and Livy!
When Stephany was 12 years old, we had been trying all the newest methods unsuccessfully to get pregnant with another child for 9 years. We never dreamed that anyone would consider us ‘wealthy or good enough’ to adopt a baby. I finally saw an ad in the newspaper for Licensed Therapeutic Foster Parents. We figured if they needed foster parents this badly, maybe they would approve us. We have now fostered more than 30 children, mostly sibling groups, for over 12 years. We were finally able to adopt 4 amazing siblings who are, our humorous and inventive Chris age 10,
focused and humorous Isaac age 8, twin girls, attentive and creative Alexis, and courageous and helpful Alicia, age 7!
After they were with us for a few years, we began fostering again. We are now blessed with 3 wonderful boys who are our imaginative and incredible Jason age 14, responsible and self-reliant Zachary age 11, and ambitious and cheerful Jeremy age 9. If you’ve been keeping track of the numbers, you can tell that we have seven children in our home, including 5 boys and 2 girls and they stair step from 2nd grade, including every grade, through 7th! Yes we are so Blessed! All of our kids are amazing readers, sensitive and so caring!
Two more of my ‘too numerous to mention hats’, are bookkeeper and remaining a student throughout my life. My husband is co-owner of a salvage yard in Alexandria where I voluntarily manage the bookkeeping for the company.
Thanks to our daughter and her social consciousness, my life has now circled back around to where I began my journey trying to learn about community events and resources. I am excited to now have the opportunity to give back to our communities through Central Indiana Mothers.
